Berlins gastronomy keeps growing and growing. In the trend districts Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain new cafés, bars and restaurants are celebrating their grand opening all the time. More and more establishments arrange their premises handicap-friendly, which means barrier-free access and toilets accessible for wheelchairs.
A special highlight is a noble menu at the "Käfer" in the Reichstag along with a grandiose view over Berlin. Or what about a piece of cake at the "Kuchen Kaiser" in the heart of the district Kreuzberg?
The café "Blisse" is a location very accessible for handicapped and because of that a popular meeting point in the district of Wilmersdorf. In its adjoining room the foundation "Fürst Donnersmarck Sitftung" holds seminars and organizes trips. Every sunday it's brunch time with live-music.

The shopping malls that were opened in the recent years are adjusted to the needs of people with wheelchairs, e.g. the "Potsdamer - Platz - Arcaden", the "Gesundbrunnen - Center" or the "Schönhauser Allee Arkaden". They are supplied with automatic doors, large elevators and handicapped accessible lavatories.

Most of the big Multiplex-movie-theatres were built considering the needs of people with wheelchairs. The Potsdamer Platz offers many other possibilites for an entertainment programme at night as well. Whether you choose a multimedia experience at the "Imax" movie theatre, an amusement at the "CineStar" cinema, a diversion at the "Cinemaxx" at the Potsdamer Platz, or a visit at the Musical theatre at the Marlene-Dietrich-Platz - all event locations are handicapped accessible.

Tip:
The F40 is the first barrier-free theatre in Berlin, being fully accessible for audience and performers. Before the foundation of its own theatre F40, the Thikwa theatre has been a valuable component in the theatrical landscape of Berlin since 1990.
